Loads of kits

I know, dont fall over. It only takes me about a month to update this thing called a blog. But here I go.

Christmas was great. My kids were all just tickled about their gifts. Im always so worried that they will be disappointed. But Santa was good to them ;) I absolutley LOVE this time of year but there is always a sense of relief when its over. Another year down.

But now the work starts. My mom and I signed up to teach at 5 CKCs this year. Houston, Mesa, Ft. Lauderdale, Phoenix, and Seattle. We are each doing 3 classes. Thats a lot of kits. 1800 each about. Yikes!!! Here are some pics of my projects.

"A Family Thing"

"Create Banner"

"My House"

If you plan on attending any of those CKCs come visit me. This Saturday the 5th I am doing a preview of the Create Banner. Its only $10. Yep thats it. Youll get to be my ginney pigs however. I like to do these run throughs to make sure things go smoothly the day of convention.

Well I promise to post soon. We have an awesome event planned for March that I will be giving all the details for.

Happy New Year!!!

December already

I cant believe its already December. I LOVE this time of year. But for the last couple of years it has been so busy that it is hard to sit and enjoy it. So many things happening. And its not slowing down for a long time. Starting in January my mom and I will be traveling and teaching classes at 5 different CKC. Houston, Mesa, Ft. Lauderdale, Phoenix, and Seattle. 3 classes at each. Thats a ton of kits. Yikes. But I am excited it will be fun. We are dragging my friend JoAnn along with us to Houston to ta so that will even be funner. Is funner a word? HMMMM!

Ive got a couple classes going on this week. Thursday I will be teaching an altered paper mache star. Yep the one I created the night the store was broken into. The class is only $12. Come join us.

I am also holding my last class on the altered cabinet door. Yep last one. I think Ive said that before but this time its for real. Saturday at 10am. There are only 2 spots left so dont wait any longer if you want to join us.

Off to bed I go. More later.

WAKE UP!!!!!

Goodmorning????? Not really. About 2:15 this morning (yes am) my mom got a phone call from the stores alarm company. The alarm was set off by a glass disturbance. Hmmm. They had called the police and she should go meet them there. So off she went. When she got there SURPRISE! Someone had thrown a rock at our glass door. AGAIN? Luckily, we have safety glass so they couldnt get in. But there was glass all over the front. Unfortunatley the karate studio down the way wasnt so lucky. They got in and smashed some things. Punks! So I then got the dreaded phone call. It took me about 20 minutes to actually get semi clear. I called the glass guy and headed down so mom wasnt alone. Well the glass guy got there, measured the door, and of course its a custom size. So off to Phoenix he went to cut a new piece of glass. At this point its almost 4am. SOOO tired. But the store is wide open so we have to stay. We decided there was nothing better to do so we started creating classes. Mom and her cards and me an altered paper mache star. Forgot to take pictures though. About 6am I made a starbucks run for hot pepermint cocoa. Still no glass guy. Finally at 7ish hes back. It takes him only 10 minutes to install. Wow. That was fast once we had the right size. So off we went to change our clothes and get ready for a 8:30 staff meeting followed by a 10am class. No sleep for me. Right when I thought I was recouping from Silver Bella Bam! Not happening. Heres our door befor it was replaced of course. Just grateful no one was hurt. And thanks to the wonderful Gilbert police. They have been there for us several times.

This Saturday I have my muffin tin advent calendar. The cups are magnetic so you can add each number as you go. Or take the numbers off. Whatever floats your boat. Thers still room so call the store today.

Well Im extremly tired.
Goodnight. I hope its quit:)

Omaha is sooo cool!

Ya. Thats what I said. Omaha, Nebraska is a cool town. The buildings are amazing. Photo op around every corner down at the Old Market. Way cool. But I didnt go to Omaha to take photos, I went to attend Silver Bella. An amzing time, amazing instructors, and amazing artists. ALL over the place. I got to meet Rebecca Sowers, Candice Carpenter, Jennifer Paganeli, Jenny Heid and Aaron Nieradka, Pam Garrison, Carolyn Peeler again, Teresa Mcfayden again, and many other fabulous ladies. I also meet a new BFF Melissa Heid. Shes one cool chick that caused all kinds of ruccus with Kim and I the last day. The amazing Beth Quinn who I think, if all works out, will be coming to teach at the store. You do not want to miss a class with her. She does awesome jewlery and art. Keep your eyes open for her. Enjoy some pics of the fabulous event. If you want to hear all about it join me for one of my upcoming classes. Just check out the calendar and pick one.

Hey bidder bidder

Did you know
* 1 in 150 children is diagnosed with autism
* 1 in 94 boys is on the autism spectrum
* 67 children are diagnosed per day
* A new case is diagnosed almost every 20 minutes
* More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes & cancer combined
* Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.
* Autism costs the nation over $90 billion per year, a figure expected to double in the next decade
* Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases
* Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism
* There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Here at Devine Memories autism is very close to our hearts. We know first hand what autism is and what it means. This is why we choose to support Autism Speaks and Cure Autism Now in research and education of autism. Our fundraising efforts this year center around the autism walk being held Sunday November 4th at Tempe Town Lake. You can support the Devine Memories team by joining us for the walk, making a donation on our wedpage, purchasing puzzle piece pledge cards at the store, attending the autism crop, and bidding on several baskets or art pieces during our silent auction.

You know you need a getaway when......

you lock yourself in the bathoom to eat an ice cream sandwhich in peace. Ya, I know pretty sad. There I was making dinner, a little girl laying on the ground whining that she was soooo bored. Dogs barking at everything that moved outside, and a husband running through the honey do list he had given me. I had been scrubbing bathrooms and mopping floors for hours earlier so my body was achy. I begged my hubby to take Jenna downstairs and play the wii for 10 minutes, and I took a blue bunny ice cream sandwhich into my sparkling bathroom, sat on the counter and just ate my treat in peace. I need to get away. Good thing Im headed out for a girls day and night with a group of old high school pals. We will do nothing but lay by the pool, get a pedicure or massage, and relax. Its just one night but its a start.

So as usual its been a busy month. It never seems to end. But most of it is all good stuff. We just got done at CKC Phoenix. Had a blast. I always get the best students. A HUGE thanks go out to Kerry. You ROCK!!! Your help setting up was awesome. I hope you had a great day. Now we are going to start preparing for the next CKC. I might be starting to teach a class or two for The Paper Element. Great gal we meet about a year ago at Memory Trends in Vegas. Miss Lisa has become a great friend. And that Beth and Jolene arent so bad either;) Im excited. I might be traveling more. So look out for me gals. Im coming to a town near you!

So yesterday I turned 31. Yikes. I cant beleive Im 31. I cant believe my oldest will start jr high next year. Time flies. Well I got myself 2 cute jewelry stands. They have 2 cute birdies on them. The love for birds, cute ones, and jewelry all combined.

Cute ey!

My upcoming classes are fun ones. Next Saturday September 29th come be the "Queen of Art". Class starts at 10am and be prepared to use gesso, glitter, watercolors, and more. Heres some peaks

Then join me in creating this Halloween art piece. "Spooked" Saturday october 6th 10am . This one will be lots of fun. Messy, but fun. We will be crackling, painting, glittering, and more. And yes, Im missing an o in BOO. I need to get another rubon.
Well peeps, thats all for now. Pleeeeaaase join us November 4th at Tempe town lake for the autism fundraiser walk. Click here to join our team or to make a donation. And remember for each individual who donates or raises $100 you will receive 10% off ALL purchases you make at devine memories for the next year.

!!ELEVEN!!!

I went to buy shoes for my oldest today. Hes 11. Well guess what size shoes he wears. ELEVEN!! AHHHHHH! His feet are almost as big as his dads. What does the furture hold. Hmmm size 15? He still has lots of growing to do.

I took the diva today to meet the teacher. She was sooo excited. Then the aids took them out to play on the playground and have a popsicle while the teacher talked to the parents. When I picked her up to go, DRAMA! She was sooooo tired. Ok 45 minutes of a story and playtime and shes already tired. Hmmmm. Then when we got home she proceeds to tell me that school is boring. Shes no longer excited. GREAT! Shes bored and her first day of kindergarten hasnt even started. Can you just hear me screaming.

Ahh, today wore me out. I have been down sick for the past 4 days. Today was the first day I got up and I think it was too soon. All 3 of my kids have had this bug, or they are still getting over it, and my mom has it bad too. NOT fun. So off to bed I go.

Peace Out

A month ???

Wow. I cant beleive a month has gone by since Ive last posted. Alot going on. My house is once again a construction zone. But thats nothing new. Ive decided to replace all of our carpet with wood. It will be nice when it is done. I really hate carpet in my house. With 3 dogs, no carpet is my preference.

We just got back from Utah visiting my sis and her family. It was so nice and relaxing. Heres some pics.

Heres Jenna in her life vest at a cool water park. Its kinda like a mini sunsplash. Two big slides, an awesome kiddy pool, and a big play pool area. The best part is that it only cost $3 to get in.

This is on our trip home. We got some cool rain storms. But these are not pictures of fog. These are clouds. Yep clouds. We drove over one of the mountains right through the very low clouds. It was pretty cool.

One night we did glow sticks outside. My sister had loads of them. These are how the pictures turned out. The kids had a blast and we got some pretty cool pictures.

Heres Jaden posing with a wooden bear at one of the many restroom breaks. The kids were awesome on the 11 hour drive to and from. Thanks for the great vacation Jen and tom!!

Coming up in a couple weeks we are doing our annual meet the teacher. You will get to make a great project for next to nothing. Only $8. We will be altering flash cards that will then be attached to a cool wooden base with jump rings. Each teacher, myself, Sandy, Kim, and Renee will each walk you through a flash card which features our individual teaching style. Sign ups are limited so call the store today to reserve your space. 480-813-2093. I guess info would be nice huh?:)

Saturday August 25th 9:30am-12:30pm and again at 2-5pm. Heres a couple pics of mine and Kims projects.

My project front and back. Of course we will be using stickles and glitter and velvety ric rac.

Heres one side of Kims. Way cute flower and of course a mini book:) See you there. I will post pictures of my upcoming classes in the next few days.

STUFF

So much fun new stuff to chat about. First my little Diva had her very first dance recital on the big stage. Well Mountain Views stage. She was soooo cute shaking her thang up on that stage. Her hair was all curled and she even had makeup on. Ya, makeup. Heres a picture of her curlers, and then the finished product. Dance pose and all.

Isnt she cute. She was born to dance and perform.

Next, I had the privledge to attend Sparkle Bella this past weekend. ALL the projects and teachers were fantastic. Miss Foof herself Theresa McFayden, Kimberly Kwan, Carolyn Peeler, and Marilyn Healy. They made 12 hours fly by. The only downfall was it wasnt at Devine Memories. But I understand;) Here are peaks at the fabulous projects. They are not all done so thats why they are just peaks, but youll get the idea at how fabulous they are.

Here are some other fun pictures from that day.

Me, Helle, and Kim
